@AndrewW

Just checked mine (as I had set it to get emails= Never) changed to every 5 mins and got a ringtone alert, the email icon in notification bar and more info when you pull the notification bar down, which takes you to the new email. So yes it works fine on mine - (this is for the stock email app - also the Gmail app works fine too)

Thanks charlie. Yes, I'm using the stock email app, it works as it should on the Pulse but not on this one for some reason.

Perhaps you have download an app that is coded badly and causing issues with the email notification? Also after you have changed the setting try closing the app with a task killer and then re-launching the email app. Maybe the stock email app is buggy? (these are just guesses, but they might help)

Quite possibly is the case. If all else fails do a hard-reset (its in the menus) or you could use this code in the dialler screen: *2767*3855# (this is called the master-reset code)

WARNING: It deletes EVERYTHING and restarts the handset

andrewW wrote:Just out of interest, has anyone set up an email account (not Gmail) on the Apollo?

Although I have configured it to show incoming mail on the Notification Bar, it doesn't!! Set to scan for mail every 5 minutes. Gmail works as it should :?

Any ideas?

I have piped all my email accounts through Yahoo Mail Free app, and that was simple to do, so all email accounts (the ones I use to order stuff and spam-stoppers), come through this app. Very simple and quick to set up.
Still loving this phone ( said in hushed voice so the Sulking Scroll doesn't hear me )

Get it, you wont regret it and soon to be firmware upgraded via samsung to Froyo 2.2. which will make this smooth phone even slicker. Even my netbook has been confined to light use after getting this model. Great heads up from Fonefixer for this deal.
