Its even better with FroYo on it 8-)

I must admit I liked my daughters one that much I bought one myself and sold the N8. FroYo should be on KIES within the next three weeks providing it passes QC. The version I have on mine may not be the final build - it just depends if any last minute glitches are noticed.

My advice would be to wait for KIES to tell you its available - that way you have some comeback if it goes wrong.I will do my best to let you know when its out - I presume you all have XEU handsets (generic) could you please post your PDA/PHONE & CSC versions so I know what to expect if the upgrade goes wrong :D

Mine is a generic handset (I think), as for the other info -

I have looked in Settings > About Phone > and can not see the info

Charlie: Connect it to KIES ( remember to connect the handset via usb and wait for it to say "connected" before starting KIES) once connected it will tell you the versions you have and the ones available.

Or, from the "about" screen you can give me the "baseband version" and "build number" that will be enough.

I'm from Italy and will soon travel to London.
I want to buy a Pay As Go Samsung Apollo
Do I need a UK address to buy a prepaid phone?
I see that it comes with Orange and O2
http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mobile ... O/PPAY/NEW
Is there a difference between them ?

@ FF

I wrote that down from KIES, last week (and it said it's the latest update)

From KIES:
PDA JG7/PHONE:JG3/CSC:JG5 (XEU)

From Phone:
Baseband Version = I5800XXJG3
Build Number= ECLAIR.XXJG7

Charlie: you have a totally generic handset, so I can deal with it if it goes wrong...

Skandalen: The ForYo update is already out in Italy for the Apollo, you would be better off buying a sim free one from your country to be honest. The CPW ones sold here are generic/unlocked but have a different code so you can update it in your own country sooner than the uk.

Not that I am aware of - normally just pay by bank card, if you pay by cash the phones shops charge you a £20 topup fee instead of £10

Hi Charlie , Sorry I have not got back to you , WOW I am so impressed with this little beauty , and have to confess that my Scroll has been confined to "under the couch" since I got it. Its is so slick and fast and responsive, I have loaded every essential app that I can get on every market and it runs like a mustang with its tail on fire.
even just fiddling with ZEDGE the ringtone and wallpaper app has got me burning the midnight oil for the past several nights. Google street level maps etc............How bout you ?
By the way Fonefixer was right 2.2. aint out, but as you know skyfire works like a charm for flash etc.
Busy finding more apps ( 52 at moment installed ) I am not going to fiddle with this beauty, so unrooted I may be , but a happy little chappie, GOOD FIND FONEFIXER !!!!!!!

@ FONEFIXER My phone is 2.1 update1 / baseband version 15800xxjg3 / build no eclair.xxjg7
Scroll 0.94 version 7.62mm Hollow Point
