if I view the folders on the devuce with astro where would you put all the files that you have got here ?

you need to load these files using adb from the android sdk, they cant be inserted using a file manager on the device. They are essentially "images" of parts of your operating system. Similar to imaging the HDD on your home pc for backup purposes.

downloaded mtd6_recovery.zip - unzipped and copied to root of SD card
downloaded update.zip from storage options website and copied to root of SD card
flashed mtd6_recovery.img using instructions from first post.
reboot into stock recovery
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply sdcard:update.zip

My scroll has been reborn!
Set it up as first time I switched it on, and I have the use of the market again (at least for 24 hours)
Everything just like brand new.

Thanks for the images - sadly they don't work on the 1.02S rom. Still can't get into recovery mode.
Just a thought, if it was a hardware fault then surely adb'ing into recovery would work? I.e. Using software to force recovery mode.

adb "should" work I would assume. I cant for the life of me understand why there is no recovery on this 1.02s firmware version....

Could someone with this version email SO and ask them how to do a system recovery please?

I've just tried flashing the recovery partition on my Scroll, it is 1.02s firmware and it still cannot get into the recovery mode.

Does anyone have the 1.02s firmware?

I had the same problem on mine then id dies but maplins we only to happy to replace it, there may be afew faults in the 1.02s as my replacement has 1.02 and is seem much faster than the one with 1.02s but it could just be me lol

There is a way to use fastboot to flash an image I think its the same command but you use fastboot flash_image recovery /sdcard/mtd6_boot.zip

I haved included fastboot.exe in the zip in the first post not sure if it will fix it though
