If ADB is not being recognised as a command, then you are opening the command prompt outside of the folder containing the ADB command files

The path on my machine was
C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools

Is that where you are trying to launch adb?

If you read through some of the tutorials instead of getting mad because you can't do it you would learn faster.

Hold Shift, and right click inside the adb folder, choose "Open Command Window Here"

--

Or use command prompt to navigate to the correct location by using the change dir dos commands

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\cmd]
@="Open Command from here"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\cmd\command]
@="cmd /k \"cd %L\""

I'm nearly there (I think).

When I run the virtual machine on a Vista x32 box, I can sign into Google fine. But when I put the system.img file in the dir where it is needed, I can no longer sign into Google (I get the same error as I was getting on my Windows 7 x64 machine).

Any idea on this one?

I think I've got it now. Created another virtual machine using 1.6 Android software and everything seems ok (I've got an AndroidID).

Thanks for all the help so far. Got to get this onto the tablet now.

Not sure the id for 1.6 will give you the best market experience and/or work properly, and it may only show apps compatible with 1.6 and not 2.1

Please let us know the results. Cheers
