Weird workaround, but Im getting solved posts on forums saying to Register your account via the Youtube app.

Once you do that, your gmail account will work and sync etc

But I am not sure there is a youtube app on the emulator, maybe there is a workaround getting the apk via the browser

EDIT - Yes there is a youtube app on there

Thanks Detection, I've just tried YouTube, no joy.

Mitre, I've got the 3G symbol, should it be lit up or anything like that?

I'll try it on a 32 bit machine in a little while (have to wait for my son to go to bed though, he's playing Lego Loco on it).

Do you have net access on the emulator ?

Wondering if your firewall is blocking it ?

Has your gmail account ever been associated with an Android device before?

Not sure if that is a necessity or not

Looks like the virtual machine has no web access. Firewall switched off makes no difference.

I think it may be something to do with 32 and 64 bit code (the Java DK is 64 bit, the Android one is 32 bit (I think)).

I'll post back later when I try on another machine. Thanks for the help so far.

Related to something earlier in this thread, my machine is also seeing the Scroll as "Android Eclair" and browsing to the USB driver from the Android SDK doesn't seem to work. The link in the earlier post to the file that contains the correct android_winusb.inf is broken, does anyone have it?
