Just a mad thought, try the app 'any cut' to make a short cut when was using it, it listed the calibration option as eclair_calibration then if you have that you can access through a home screen icon. also it lists other functions that are hidden in the setting menu. (bear in mind my fw v is 0.94)

Cant find eclair_calibration in the list - but was a good plan

But there are a lot of extra options there that Im going to explorer as I think the part of android that is eating the battery is something to do with the cell provider settings, it still has all the services running that a phone would use, and my battery tells me 51% is drained by this

If someone grabs a working calibration tool I will stick it in the update.zip I am building

I got a reply from Storage Options already, and they have sent me the calibration .apk file along with confirming a new firmware is to be released shortly.

They seem to really be interested in helping

----------EMAIL START------------

Dave, we will pass back to the manufacturer. Unfortunately, some apps are integral to the android os. Also look at Advanced Task Killer.

Please use attached to calibrate Scroll, a new version of the firmware with calibration is out soon.

I think if they registered here and saw we were all rooting our scolls, they would stop helping us lol

Maybe once we get Froyo 2.2 running perfectly, we can show them and get them to release a real update

I don't think they would mind, most don't really.

The only issues are to do with warranties and the phone carriers bitching.

@Detection - Mike at Storage Options has also told me we can upgrade to 2.2 via the miniSD card but won't give any details as it will invalidate the warranty. So unless they officially release an update, I wouldn't think they'll be releasing step by step instructions anytime soon unfortunately.
