Hi Detection. I've been reading here already. I bought a Scroll from Ebay a couple of days ago for £82 with case and keyboard. It was only a couple of weeks old and is virtually new. I'm just learning the ropes at the moment. I read on here about Astro and that's all I've downloaded so far. It seems I have Android Market and also, after reading here, no problem playing Youtube videos unlike some members have.

I forgot to say. I plugged it into my PC and it was asking for Android Eclair so it didn't install the drivers. On the Scroll it came up with " mount " , so I agreed and it paired with my PC. I have HTC and LG phone app suites on my PC so assume the drivers from one of them may have worked ?

Mounting the drives will work like any flash drive / mass storage device

The Android Eclair is the version of Android the scroll is running, you need to install the USB drivers via device manager if you want to use things like ADB to mod the scroll / fix the scroll.

My first piece of advice would be to check out the ClockWorkMod section, and install that, then make a Full Backup of your scroll - once you have CLockWorkMod installed, and a Backup saved - you can rest easy knowing if anything goes wrong it is fixable.

Without those installed / backed up, it is pretty difficult to repair should anything break

Youtube may break > there are fixes here
Market probably will break > there is a fix here also, which requires the USB drivers installed

ADB is a way to comunicate with the scrol via the command prompt on the PC.

Goto the ClockWorkMod thread in Guides section to learn about backups, you need to install ClockWorkMod to make your backup

After you do that you should install Samba file sharing. It will share your Scroll's /SDCARD/ with your LAN so you can map the drive on your PC like any other drive/system on your network and no longer have to plug in the USB cable to transfer files to/from the Scroll and the PC.

I suggest this version >here< to get you started, as I know it works 100%, but the author has updated it here if you want to check that out too: http://scrolltabletforum.sevo.uk/site/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=516

I'm finding all this a bit daunting at the moment. I know Windows inside out but that's as far as my knowledge goes !
