USB Client Mode

Postby radders » February 9th, 2011, 12:15 pm

Hello,

I know that the Scroll can appear as both 'removable media' and an Android Phone to Hosts (Windows), but has anyone attempted to make it appear as an HID (e.g. as a mouse or keyboard or similar)?

I have a use for my tablet (via a custom-written app) as an interactive (i.e. intelligent) control panel for managing hardware connected to the Host PC and itself controlled by a VB program.

Being able to make the Scroll a HID device on the PC means that the s/w I write for the PC is fairly striaghtforward, as HID drivers exist in Windows, and VB can interact with them.

I'm guessing that it would require a kernal rebuild to activate such a mode.

I asked SO about this, and they don't support this...

Thanks.
Dave

There's not a lot of point asking SO about anything, I have taught them things we learned on this forum via email, they don't know much about their own product at all.

They gave me the wrong instructions on how to enter recovery.
The had no idea how to root the scroll.
They had no idea what the 3 phone apks were or how to disable them

They are a company who bought a load of scrolls, made a site and sold them, that's about their capacity
