Spot on WF! It was a problem with the SD card. I bunged another one in and it's off and working.
The non-working one (but working for all other Scroll access) was 16GB; the working replacement is a 2 GB.

Just an update- the MicroSD card (16GB) I was using is defective.
Tested it with a prog called H2TestW.
Brought it from eBay (I know!), and going back for a refund.

managed to get it working but i still cant get zroot to root my device it satys stuck on the sninning circle loading

How did you managed to get this working? I'm having the same troubles. I've tried both methods of installation and both seem to follow through ok. However when I try to get into recovery mode by switching on while holding down the volume up it just freezes on the white "scroll" screen.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received!

Thanks for the update regarding v1.02...it's a relief knowing it's something fixable!! Quick question, is the install-recovery.sh file accessible from the Scroll? I've been searching for it using Supermanager without success. I'm going to access the scroll tonight via my laptop to see if I can find it that way...is there a more obvious/better way to find this file? I can't see it in the suggested directory but of course it could just be hiding!! Good times.
