That was a SO error (scroll operator) I diddnt have the sd card in properly...
Anyway, I give up. Going to leave well alone as it works. Kept getting incorrect device errors I think becxause my device says "scroll" in the about page and not all that telechips crap. Tried an original build prop, no good. Also cant reinstall the original recovery despite all the correct files and references being there.
Oh well.....

Well if your shizzle works you don't want to break it with a goosed up firmware update... I'm sure our soon to emerge custom firmwares will work just fine

erm... are you updating this with the stock recovery? because it will probably work in clockwork and clockwork dosent give a crap.

Yeah he replaced the build.prop and several of the .sh files it complained about but to no avail

Yup, I stuck the original build.prop back. Tried to get it back to stock recovery but no go either. Done a data wipe/factory reset.
Its moaning because its the "wrong device". When i loaded your custom update.zip it changed the name to "scroll" and it wont go back even with the original prop file. I think thats what I need to get changed for it to work.
