Unwanted icons

If I download an app and put an icon for it on the home screen and then decide I don't want the app, I can uninstall it but the icon remains. I then drag the icon to the waste bin tab that appears but it's still in the main apps menu.

How please can I remove it totally from the main apps list?

Root your scroll then use a file explorer (which uses root) and browse to /system/app/ and rename the application you wish removed and reboot. it should be gone from the drawer.

NOTE: be careful what you rename as some apk's will put your Scroll in a loop if renamed/removed or renamed/removed in the wrong order (such as the phone apk's).

Perhaps running the "clear cache partition" option in the android manager from bootup may remove them...

Forgive my ignorance but where or what is the android manager?

Pressing Vol+ while you power up gets you into the manager (where you can backup etc if you've installed clockwork mod)

Thanks for that. In the meantime I have found Android Assistant thanks to the Recommended Apps forum. Ran it and it's solved the problem
