Hi Charlie
I am having the problem where the router is. I ve tried countless times tonight reset, wifi tick on off and reboot to no avail . Does yours find other wifi but not yours or find nothing at all? What do you think the problem might be?... Hardware ie firmware? Mine is an ex display also so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Someone sent it back for instance cos of the same problem.

don't reboot the scroll or the router - when doing what i said above. - u had wifi before on the scroll, so u will again.
are there other devices on using wifi in the flat that were not before? if so turn the other devices off.

You set up the router by going to it's IP. Look on the back for what it is by default. I *think* it is 192.168.1.100, but you will need to check. I also think the default username is 'admin' and the default password is 'password'. Again, it should say on teh router. If not, jsut Google the router and someone will tell you.

In teh setting you have LAN and WIRELESS configurations in the menu. You can turn off DHCP and set the security protocol.

My post above tells you how to set an IP (and gateway, DNS, etc) on the Scroll.

user and password will ither be on the box or just google the model number

Its a strange problem your having really mate, it sounds as though the SSID is not hidden so you should be ok on that score. The fact that you can see your neighbours WiFi but not your own points more towards the router or router settings i would think.

Thats what I was thinking, Im at work now and I can see like 10 wifi hotspots, 2 from my office, btopenzones and other offices in the same building. I guess if its the router exchanging the scroll wouldnt really help.

Exactly, do you have another router you could try at home? Or know someone that you could borrow one from?

Have a spare one at work, so will borrow that, funny how is just the scroll that cant find it though. If it is the router, hope is just one off.

I've never seen the I.P. address or the system password on the back of a router.
Sometimes the default wireless security key but not always.

Most routers would have a default I.P. address of 192.168.x.1 where x is 0 or 1.
BT routers are usually 192.168.1.254

You don't need to have any particular I.P. address set to be able to see the router over wireless, only if you're using a wired connection.

The netgear access page is on 192.168.0.1
As stated above by Diego the default access is "admin" and "password" (without quotes). It may be worth checking the netgear support page to make sure you have the latest firmware loaded on it. My DGN2000 was a but hormonal connecting via wifi until i updated its firmware last week. The update procedure is pretty easy, but you must be connected via ethernet to do it properly. Some routers have an auto-update facility too.

I have a belkin router - (use them for many years) with no issues , (apart from a power adapter die once, was in constant use for 4+ years)

I have the DHCP Server > = On, Lease Time > set as 'Forever', & make sure the IP Pool is large enough to enable me to connect all the devices i need.
