Hi all,

You can add me to your ranks of proud owners.

I picked up a Scroll a couple of days ago and i am having trouble putting it down!

Android is new to me so I am still finding my way around. I am impressed though, there are quite a few features i like about this little tablet, the Aluminium case looks and feels nice and the connectivity is impressive.

The one and possibly the only thing i don't like is the battery life. I have charged my Scroll for 12 hours (with the unit turned off) and it has been turned on for an hour with WiFi off and screen on 50% brightness. My battery widget dropped from 100% to 75% within 30 seconds of removing the charging lead and it is now hovering around 44%.

I have noticed a thread on the battery subject and i am following it keenly. I do plan on stripping some of the phone apps from the unit, why are they there? is it to do with Android licensing or just poor software development?

I love the forum, its nice to see a whole site dedicated to one product and with friendly contirutors too!

Thanks for the advice so far

Sean

the phone apk's are there because they are a "system essential" part of android. Basically shit can break if you remove them (mostly google apps like youtube) but workarounds have been found for these.
Also there hasnt exactly been a huge amount of customisation work done on this thing lol
