How good is the battery life?

From non-stop use? For example if i wanted to watch a film in the car, how long would it last before my device died (from full charge)

Not bad about 3 to 4 hours depending on use. Can be enhanced by deleting a few files that are for phones but still suck battery life.

it'll charge from usb, so just use a car cigarette lighter usb device/gizmo

Im not even sure if the car has a usb or cigarette lighter haha. Although that is really crap for battery life >.< oh well.

its not so likely it has usb, but its much more likely to have a cigarette lighter.

Someone may correct me here, but you could charge it via your laptop.
However typical USB o/p current is only 500mA. So if connected via laptop and watching a film on scroll at the same time it may extend the battery life and keep it topped up or slow the battery discharge rate.

If you plug it into USB and turn off WiFi it'll happily keep the battery topped up
