The only .img file I have is a copy of the original firmware. I have extracted the image using imgrepacker and found the sys_config.fex file an extract is below.

;********************************************************************************************************
[part_num]
num = 8

;------------------------------>nanda, known as bootfs before, includes boot.axf u-boot.bin etc...
[partition0]
class_name = DISK
name = bootloader
size_hi = 0
size_lo = 16384
user_type = 0
ro = 0

;------------------------------>nandb, enviroment for u-boot
[partition1]
class_name = DISK
name = env
size_hi = 0
size_lo = 2048
user_type = 0
ro = 0

;------------------------------>nandc, kernel and ramdisk
[partition2]
class_name = DISK
name = boot
size_hi = 0
size_lo =32768
user_type = 0
ro = 0

;------------------------------>nandd, android real rootfs
[partition3]
class_name = DISK
name = system
size_hi = 0
size_lo = 262144
;size_lo = 307200
;size_lo =409600
user_type = 2
ro = 0

;------------------------------>nande, user data
[partition4]
class_name = DISK
name = data
size_hi = 0
size_lo = 1228800
user_type = 2
ro = 0

;------------------------------>nandf, misc
[partition5]
class_name = DISK
name = misc
size_hi = 0
size_lo = 1024
user_type = 2
ro = 0

;------------------------------>nandg, for recovery
[partition6]
class_name = DISK
name = recovery
size_hi = 0
size_lo = 32768
user_type = 2
ro = 0

;------------------------------>nandh, android app cache
[partition7]
class_name = DISK
name = cache
size_hi = 0
size_lo = 131072
user_type = 2
ro = 0

;********************************************************************************************************************

If I change the size of nandd to 409600 am I good to go or do I need to change any other sizes?

As mentioned before it is rathed easy to increase your /system partition with ImgRePacker

Open ImgRepacker (on PC)
Drag your image inside ImgRePacker (there must be no spaces in names)
Leave blank, yes, yes
Just edit sys_config.fex with Wordpad (change size_lo under nandd to 350*1024=358400 or whatever you want)
Open ImgRePacker again
Drag your image.dump inside ImgRePacker
Leave blank, yes, yes

Flash this modified image with LiveSuit

Then the problems of incomplete gapps are gone

As im at work and my pc and tablet is at home i can't try this but it sounds a little easier than the livesuit route???? Has anyone used this software before?

Yes, this is what i was referring to, you still need to flash the image via livesuit though :?

Sorry Suggsy,

I got a little carried away with myself lol as i had no idea on how to build an actual SO img. I was reading alsorts about loading a virtual linux machine and i thought it was going to be a mare....... This seems an easy process seeing that you only have to set your required intial partition size and the software sets the rest, I think i may be able to wing the livesuit bit anyway :)

After I drag the .img file into the repacker, enter, leave blank and enter, I get a message that it cannot open. I go ahead and input yes on the next 2 which also show errors and my dump folders that are generated are empty. This is the name of the file "G9-20120324.img" so there were no spaces. Any ideas? I'm using repacker version 2.01 on XP 32 bit. The script thingy shows V1.0

It took a couple of attempts and I thought the tablet was bricked for a while, but the reset button came to the rescue. I finally increased the system partition to 400MB using Imagerepacker and livesuit and have cm10 reinstalled.Phew!
Thanks guys for your help,I`m happy.

Hi all,

I've sort of lost the plot a little now :( I've been trolling the net about using imgrepacker with not much success, I suppose the simple question is:

Does imgrepacker run in the windows environment? or is a virtual Linux setup needed? I've run a version that only opens for a brief second then closes?
I've seen the mention of Flash Kitchen being used to? so I'm thinking I've missed a vital post somewhere :) Usually i'm quite good at getting my head round new stuff but this has left me flummoxed somewhat. S a little pointer in the right direction would be greatly appreciated right now lol :lol:

Hi stubaldock ,

I ran Imgrepacker on my windows 7 PC. It would not work unless I ran it from the desktop.

I copied the Imgrepacker folder to the desktop along with a copy of my .img file (in my case was a stock firmware image for scroll).Open imgrepacker folder and run file called runner.This opens a terminal window.Drag .img image into terminal window and away you go.Do blank,yes,yes.The extracted image is dumped on the desktop.Edit the sys_config.fex file in notepad and save back to dumped folder.

Run runner again from imgrepacker folder and drag dumped folder into terminal window.Do blank,yes,yes to create new .img file.
Hope this helps.

Regards.
