AOKP Slow down

Postby fregrin » June 28th, 2012, 5:24 pm

Hi All,

thanks for previous help in other threads (different issues now resolved)

I updated AOKP and tablet seems be crawling now, pauses long time opening Apps or pops up the Wait message or stop message etc.

very slow? is this something am running in background (gots lots installed) ? something i tweaked ?

can i clear some caches or something ? i installed apex launcher see if any benefit there ?

20 questions sorry.

Hi ya,

I know when i first updated to AOKP the tablet seemed a bit of a slow coach but i powered it down and back on again left it a few minute to sort itself out and has been fine since. The only thing i do have a problem with is the updateme app hanging for a while then it just works???

Apart from that alls well (touching (table) wood)) lol

Yep the slowdown seems inherent on AOKP so do the wipes in CWM and a couple of powerdowns and it should settle down
I moved from susgy89so did factory reset then flashed then after getting the slowmo wiped David cache and battery stats in CWM

I found it was slow as well, just set the MIN CPU speed to 200+ - that should fix it.
Cheers,

I have read that although the Allwinner A8 is supposd to be able to take an overclock up to 1.5 Ghz that in fact most people find it only works reliably at around the 1.00Ghz mark.
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

I got a little frustrated with the AOKP so went back to CM9. Just feels a little more homely lol and i prefer the wallpapers 8-)
