Excel scroll 7 pc tablet 2.3 and GPS

Hi,

Have recently purchased an excel scroll 7 2.3 and was looking it for compass and navigation programmes. Have have found an compass app, but this require GPS, which I understand the Excel does not have.
I Do have a old Garman handheld GPS device, Can anyone tell me if i can connect the handheld device to the scroll and whether this would provide the GPS required.

if you flash AOKP 4.0.4 you may be able to connect gps via usb it is supported in the rom but you are a long way from there and i not 100% sure it will work now have usb bluetooth on my Excel via AOKP

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the info.....Ok another question in the same vane. If I were to plug a 3g dongle would that work with the scroll and provide GPS......Sorry but I'm not a techie and being a bit of an old git I not fully up to speed on these matter, so would prefer a question in easy to understand language....Thanks

Pretty much no
On the whole Dongles don't provide gps positioning
Have a read of trashcooky's guide for android novices to get you up to speed
