It's fixed......phew
After re-boot it loaded with KLRichards favorite SO Balloon picture lol I then tested the screen rotation and everything checked out ok. So I hooked it back up to my PC again and copied over the CM9 20120611 rom with compatability and Gapp (I'm a little hesitant to use the 20120615 rom).
After another re-boot I was back to normal with just the usual setting up of apps again. I must say that after going back to stock this feels so much better

I'm not really sure what caused the screen rotation to crash initially but at least i know now how to ressurect it again should it fail. I'm also not sure that it had to be original FW that i reloaded 1st but i do know that restoring the latest CM9 over it didn't fix it??? Anyway I hope this helps anyone else that may have the same problem as me.
