Impressive HD playback

Just got an Excel with ICS and 8Gb SD bundle from CCL. I wasn't expecting the HD playback to be anything great, based on past experiences, but so far the Excel has played back everything, bar one, I've tried. I have some early 1080p stuff from a Fortec Passion+ satellite receiver which I could never play on any hardware or software other than the P+ itself.

I have some problems with the aspect ratio on some files which don't display at 16/9, more like 16/8, although the HDMI output a/r is correct. The 'home' bottom panel sometimes stays visible and other times fades out, so maybe another player will be more predictable.

If you haven't played HD via the HDMI it's definitely worth a look, just need a miniHDMI-to-HDMI adaptor or lead. The output is slightly jerky compared to the hardware players but the resolution helps the overall impression.
