Re: Android 4.0.4 firmware for the Extreme

Hi suggsy, not sure if this is a problem with the 4.0.4 build, the V0.8 build or a problem with the Extreme.

If I use an external USB drive everything works ok. But when I unmount the drive to remove it, all SD drives are unmounted, including the internal SD card as after I have unmounted the USB drive I cannot access any of the apps on the SD card. I cant mount it again, as the system manager thinks its mounted, but when you try to run an app they say not installed. I have to power down and back on then all is ok again.

As i say not sure if it is generic problem, or one of the build. Not a real big show stopper, more an inconienance.

Regards

Kevin

Like minijay I have upgraded to the new RC1 FW and it seems to be working fine, I actually like the stock launcher over the apex and am especially glad to have the standard wallpapers back (was embarrassed to own up to not being able to get the tablet off a 'live' wallpaper lol)

Browsing seems fine through Opera and the standard browser so no complaints there either plus my games seem to run fine too.

All in all another fine addition to the FW catalogue :)

**Edit** Not sure if it's just my tablet being a bit tempremental but the camera freezes after taking a picture and i had to power down and back up to get back to norm. Have tried it twice now with it happening twice ???

Gone back to v0.8, as some of the apps didnt work on RC1. Only some minor apps but i was getting adicted to them.

@suggsy

im struggling a bit with the camera as well. pictures seem a little slow to take although not freezing as posted recently... the switch to video seemed to choke it up a bit and for some strange reason cant play a recorded video that i had just taken :)

this is probably nothing to do with the rom... i hadnt tested this on previous roms as the camera isnt all that great so could probably do without it... but just wanted to mention it just incase

new kernel sounds cool... we like stable :) but i think on the tab wifi is needed so i hope you manage to resolve the driver loading issue...

thanks again

sorry suggsy may have found a bug.....

if i try to open settings and then display it crashes out saying it has stopped. if i select apps to see whats running this is fine and i can stop running processes fine...

ive rebooted the tablet and it still has the same issue... i was using es file explorer to move my backups from the internal storage over to the extsd storage when the screen kept locking so i thought i would increase the time it took to lock which is when i found this... killing all apps and trying again still has the same result...

is there an easy way to backup all your apps and settings so that when you wipe the device and upgrade to a new rom you can put it all back as before but with the new rom. i didnt wipe the device like normal before i applied the rc1 rom and im curious to see if that could be some of the problem.

thanks
