How to get CWM on your Extreme (Formally-I'm giving up)

I'd also like take time out to thank KLRichards for starting this thread due to exactly the same reasons i.e. links to other threads and the general 'what to do 1st' question that has now been answered here.

Secondly but with no less respect I'd like to thank Suggsy89 and Piers for their effort and good work in creating this easy to use 'how to' and the invaluable supply of development and firmware know how i am now the proud owner of two separate backups from SDK and CWM and just waiting for some spare time to flash the new firmware back to my Extreme.... Happy days!!!!

Also would it be an idea to add this to the stickie or how to guide section???????

As for making it a sticky, great idea... Perhaps an admin who does that can change the thread title to something more useful, so that it can be found easily by the new guys like us...

Great thread guys. I went through this process myself in parallel to the discussion it seems. I've flashed Suggsy's 0.71 version and it's working just great! I was on the verge of RMA'ing the tablet as I was convinced the wifi was broken, but now it's as it should have been out of the box. An added bonus is that fussy apps (like the Rightmove app) which are explicit about the devices which they run on are now working a lot better!

My only issue was that my fat fingers are unable to do the vol+power combination to boot into CWM, so I have to rerun the .bat file in order to get into it. Works though! I did it to install the extra gapps zip so I could get Talk etc on there.

Still missing something here, as I cant find CWM Revovery....

Where can I get this from, I assume it is an APK which I must load on my Extreme ?

Just checked the BAT file downloaded, as suggested by Peirs and is it that BAT file that installs CWM Recovery ?

Just when I thought it was getting easier, I confuse myself... but that's me trying to over analyse and understand things before I try it...

hi Kl if its suggsy89 script its the one that looks like a single cog MS-DOS Batch File
just double click that a nd a window should open on the pc folow the prompts and youre done
