perhaps that's where i iwent wrong when i made my own boot.img - i dd'd it back to /dev/block/nandc

though looking at it, a 9 meg img vs the 32 odd meg one i originally pulled...

anyway, grab the file here:

Ill download them now, give me five minutes then delete the link from here, we dont want to naff up other Extremes if your system partition is corrupt lol

The boot partition is 32mb in size, if you "dd" it.. it will pull the image exactly as it is on the partition. So end result is an image that is 32mb in size because the partition is 32mb in size

i'm sure you're probably much more clued in on what you'd expect to see on a device than me, but i'm finding it a wee-tad odd there's no "/system/etc/init.d" directory on the tablet. i'm sure you always get an init.d on *nix devices (phone has one, a rom i "found" has one...)

the giveaway something is up is that "Total space" is listed at 0.00B

i first noticed something was up when all my apps just - well - vanished.

A colleague just bought themselves an extreme, so i may be able to convince them to lend it me so i can pull a copy of their /dev/block/nandd

Explain what you actually changed... the boot.img? Which files dd you modify? init.rc? init.sun4i.rc?

Ah, i see now, just rebooted and it was like as if it had been reset...
