Hi.
You have to hold down the volume up button, when plugging in the Excel, not the Home button.
Hope this helps.

Wow. I am deeply, deeply impressed. Install went without a hitch. This ICS is clearly better than the original Gingerbread software - faster, smoother, cleaner. The Scroll Excel was a great value tablet before - with this mod it is surely the bargain of the year. Thanks so much, Suggsy, you are a legend and a genius.

hey guys.

i am just following this process before following the updated cwm method for the latest build.

i have made sure the sdk is up to date by going into the sdk manager and letting it update itself.
i have then downloaded modified drivers and placed the extracted file into the usb_driver folder by following the path.

i am nearly ready to give it a go but when i plug it in to make sure it asks me for the driver it just comes up with 'usb connected' and 'turn on usb storage'

obviously i am doing something wrong but i cant for the life of me think what it is.

cheers so far guys

Device must be off, without livesuit running, try the flash procedure, hold vol+ then power button press 10 times.

See if it asks for driver then? Also check in device manager for anything with a ! against it.

Make sure you backup before proceding ;)

cheers mate.

i followed your advice and it did a ping in the background. i then checked device manager and there was a device with exclamation mark. i right clicked and went to update driver, i searched for the android sdk folder then onto the usb-driver i downloaded from your first post and it said it couldnt update. i uninstalled that device with ! and then replugged in. it said it was installing but it failed.

and ideas?

thanks again

EDIT...

i thought i would right click the device with ! and go to the livesuite folder and install the usb driver for 64 bit (read it somwhere on here). it did seem to install as the ! disappeared and a usb device (odd type of code) came up.

if i plug it in with or without vol+ pressed it pings straight away. if i do it while livesuite running, as soon as i plug it in, even before pressing the power button any amount of times, at the bottom of the livesuite window it says 'initial failed (513)'

Try to install the driver as a legacy driver

cheers mate.

no good though, i followed your suggestion. i did add hardware at top of device manager, clicked through and chose google as the manufacturer, clicked have disk, i then tried your driver, a driver i think charlie or someone pointed me to when i was sorting cwm and even the one in livesuite but it just says that the folder or file i was pointing to didnt include a compatible driver.

i might get the chance later to start fresh on another pc but it is still win 7 64 bit like this one
