Any problems with the headphone socket? I find that if I push the plug in as far as it can go the speakers come back on. Not a massive issue as socket still has a firm grip on the plug at the point where the sound is coming out of the headphones only.

Well received my replacement.

All loks good so far, but early days....

Had an issue with Google Play returning -101 errors. Searched this, and responses I found didnt really help.

I'll post what I did to fix it elsewhere.

Regards

Kevin

My tablet seems to have a couple cracks in the case around the screws. Also a couple tiny specs under the screen. I also have the speakers which cackle, this is an issue on all these units so a replacement wouldn't ix this.

I worry that a replacement will not be any better, or worse so will stick with it.

Would definetly get that changed.

Mine doesn't have that sort of damage.

The replacement I have sems to be perfect. Early days but I hope that remains true.

New Extreme (replacement) seems to be fine.

I did get the crackling speakera earlier today, but seem to have cleared. I suspect it is caused by something running, just not identified what yet.

Charging is still a pain, was charging from near flat for 8 hours over night and only got to 98℅ full. Mind you have been on all day today and used quite a bit and still has 25℅ life left. So on normal usage that shouldn't be a problem.

Keyboard lag when typing this is a pain though its like an old teletyper

Keyboard seems to be fixed now with Suggsy's latest ICS build for the Excel.
On the Extreme, try switching off Spelling correction in System settings/Language & Input.
This has been found to reduce it.
Hope this improves it.

robbie1985 wrote:I personally think it's completely unfair to try and suggest this poll its in any way going to be a fair representation of extreme owners as generally I'd imagine at least half of the votes come from people who searched 'scroll extreme fault' or something similar. there could be 1,000 completely satisfied customers happily using their fault free scrolls who may never know of the reported faults.

and I'm saying this as someone living with a faulty unit.

I'm not so sure you are right about your figures - I followed KLRichards YouTube link and I was surprised to see how low the associated viewing is for E buyer's advert (735) and Storage Options YouTube advert doesn't seem to have created any interest at all. Ebuyer (to-date) only have 23 reviews and not all of these are glowing. We will have a better picture and can draw more accurate conclusions when more people vote. When you Google "Scroll Extreme reviews", this forum seems to be the most active source. Draw your own conclusions from that :(

I also note that (to-date) Ebuyer have got 100 Extremes in stock - I hope for their sake this is not the balance of their original supply of 500 - as if so sales are abysmal.
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!
