Scroll Excell Clone (Turkish)

I saw one of these in the flesh today and it looks very (very) like an Excel clone. The interesting thing is that the education department in Turkey have apparently supplied a large number of these to their schools, so there may be some interesting new ROMS originating from Turkish hackers and tinkerers that possibly would also suit the Excel. I have an Essential so I can't confirm any of this, but might be worth someone's time to check it out.

Well glenn1966 this is news that I’m sure I haven’t seen before and your comment about some interesting ROMS appearing led me to explore just what these people are doing and Lo and Behold I found an update for this Scroll look-a-like. I have no I idea what is in the update but I am very curious just in case it can be used to tweak the Excel. As this tablet boasts the Coloured balloon loading logo that SO also use I am even more curious about this update. I have been able to determine that the update consists of a zipped 268 Mb image for the Poly Pad (Hopefully Turkey’s equivalent of the Excel) There is another zipped file which is approx 170Mb which contains another image, Livesuite and instructions in English in .xls format of how to do it all.

Now the question begs just what is it all? As a newbie without all the tools (or balls) to carry out the experiments, I am wondering if one of our Brilliant developers on this forum might take a look and see just if these files are pure Turkish Delight..... or the other thing. I have zipped both files together so there is a bit of unzipping first to get the two zipped folders out. I have uploaded to dropbox and please can someone who can, have a look and see if this might actually be a clone of the SO firmware, but updated??? And if it is of any use to this forum:

I was holding the PolyPad in my hands yesterday afternoon and a quick play with Google Translate on the Herpa website confirmed that the specification looks identical.

I have sent a message to someone I know in education in Turkey to see if they know anything more about the PolyPad and if that sheds any more light on it I will let you know.

Apparently they are on sale in the UK for £99, which undercuts most suppliers for the Scroll Excel, including CPC, where it has been dropped to £130 inc. VAT.
