Has anyone who registered their Excel received the promised free gift yet? ... I haven't!
Here's what Paul at SO said to me at the end of January:
The infamous free gifts are distributed approximately once a month to everyone who registers their product warranty (http://www.storageoptions.com/warranty or via the printed card which should be in every box). We change them around periodically and I could not possibly ruin the surprise. I would advise people not to get their hopes up too high though... :-) It's a nice useful little gift, but it's just a gesture.

Employees are like mules. Some you stand in front of and coax them along with a carrot. Some you stand behind and kick them in the arse. The key to management is knowing which mules are which!

I've emailed Paul at SO, requesting stock images be made available for the Excel and have also asked him about the free gift thing. I'll let you know what he says.

Response from Paul at SO this morning:
The free gifts will be delivered (they are here), the issue is not anything other than finding resource to update the database and co-ordindate the sending over a thousand packages. Please pass on my apologies for this - we have expanded the team and it takes time to get everyone up to speed, particularly when were in the midst of fairly major growth. May I remind people not to get too excited about these? :-)

Well, if so I hope it's one that's for a capacitative screen as the normal stylus (for a resistive screen) will not work on the Excel.
