Odd that yours changed. Mine is still PID_DEED&MI_01

What after running the 1st batch file (clockwork mod) then unpluging and pluging the scroll back into the pc - windows device mgr is listing the scroll with the same ID???

Thanks pwilko123, thought I was starting to go mad and it was just me in the end.

I'm fairly good with computers but just to clear one thing up, you said:

Are the batch files created by windows or is this something you have created? Am I right in saying a batch file is a group of commands put together under one command?

When Warpedflash was working on the idea of puting clockwork recovery on, it was suggested that I should manually use the adb interface (one the scroll was recognised by the PC) to enter the command necessary to flash the scroll.

Unfortunatly I was useless at entering the commands myself so a btach file (which contained the command) was created that i could simply double click on and it would run the adb command automaticcally. the were subsequently included in the how to as the run me first and run me second batch files (obviously the scroll was connected to the computer and NOT DISCONNECTED AT ANY POINT.

the first made the scroll reste and made it freeze at the white scroll screen (as intended as this indicated its ready for the update), and then the second batch file was run which actually applied the update. Since the scroll had rebooted after the first batch file, windows needed a few moments to recognise that it was still pluged into the usb, so i waited about 30 - 60 seconds on the frozen scoll white screen before i ran the second batch file



Again, the run me first reset the scroll

I'm not overly interested in Clockwork (etc) yet, though I will be. I just wanted the PC to stop trying to load a damned driver every time I plugged in the tablet. This was fantastic for that as not only is it not doing that, it is opening an explorer window to the tablet's file system when I plug it in. More than I expected and exactly what was needed

it asks for the driver (b4 one was installed) only when you have debug mode switched 'on' in the scroll settings.

but it looks like your scroll is mounting the SD automatically - & warpedflash says (in another post) you MUST NOT use the clockwork mod if the SD is mounted.

I've not mentioned the SD (micro CD card, yes?) as I didn't have one until last night. The SD is mounted, but I don't see it in the Windows File Manager (Windows Explorer) window. I only see the internal file system, but I can browse the CD on the Scroll itself all the while.

BTW: the Scroll comes up as 4 drives for me, though only one (the first, labeled 'A') is accessible. The others are listed as 'removable media' and ask for a disk to be inserted when I click on them. Thinking they're prolly partitions, but that's just a guess.

UPDATE -

I have been tweaking my hack - needed to install 2 different usb drivers - this is what happens now on vista 32bit

1. Now when i plug the scroll into the pc it is seen as - Android Composite ADB Interface
2. Run first batch file OK - (Scroll does what it should.)
3. Windows disconnects the device
4. Windows reconnects the device, but it's now seen as - Android ADB Interface

(no more install driver popups)

So technically I should now be able to run batch file 2 as it's properly connected to the pc (not going to try yet)

Q. Does the above seem ok to you?

That sounds reasonable, as long as the pc can communicate with the scroll to execute the batch file it should work, but as you can appreciete, I cannot be 100%

If it cant communicate, then the second batch file will do nothing, if it can then you should see a change in the scroll pad almost imediatly as the second batch file commands are executed
