I've just fired off an email to Bill again.
And pointed him to this thread.

Well said Excel, maybe what we could do with is an open letter saying just that and highlighting some of the other things that have been said also, we could all then put our signatures to it (electronically). You up to the challenge Excel ? :-)

I think that's a really good idea if it can be done. :-)

I found out a little-more concerning the AndyPad firmware.
Although the tablet is Chinese built of course, the firmware is actually developed by someone in the UK.
Seems a little more convenient in terms of software support.

@forrrge - Let's see what reaction @blueeagle69's email gets from SO first. If they've been referenced to this thread, they'll be aware of our thoughts.

Anyone who's interested in getting SO to support porting ICS onto the Excel should email them to express their feelings, don't just rely on discussing it here.

I saw this on the SO website:
Our aim is to deliver great products that meet expectations, offer exceptional value for money and provide the good service and support expected by our customers.

Let's keep the faith and give SO the chance to come good on ICS.

HaHa short and sweet, the gist I get from that response is they have been asked a lot, he's had conversations about it already with his boss and now he's passing across the proof that we really do want it. I also feel that he would like to see it on there himself.

Good work @blueeagle69. I wouldn't read too much into the response, other than they didn't say 'No'.

This could be because the guy at SO doesn't know the answer, wants to leave it open ended, is tired of saying 'No' or there genuinely is a possibility of a rethink on their stance re. ICS (and plenty of other possibilities).

Did SO say they would get back to you with an answer or is it a case of 'with one upwards referral they're off the hook' without a definite response either way?

@Excel

Hi mate.
No mate, it was a simple answer, of passing it up the chain of command.

So either the next one up is someone with the power to make a decision, or the next one up is actually the recycle bin :)

Then again, we may be able to get it anyway, if the other thread is anything to go by :)
