Android 4 for Scroll Excel / Tablo TAB7012 / MOMO 9C pro

I think this may be the Android 4 upgrade.

Anyone got a "How To" guide on how to implement this upgrade? If I knew how to do it, i'd have a go myself but I've only had my Tab 4 days so I'm a bit unsure!

Very nice find rayhertford - I will be testing this out - When I put CWM5 on my excel and make a backup. I was hoping to not do that so soon, as I wanted to fully test the excel out in stock condition. Looks like I will have to speed up my testing

I am sure Mitre will have a go, as he has CWM5 and backed up already.


P.S. There is a post here on how to put CWM5 on the Excel - Mitre has done it ok - but take care when doing it (sure you will) and do at your own risk.

Hi all,

I have just looked at the instructions on here http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/26218-momo9c-pro-audio-sync-problem/ and I remembered something important.

A Word of Caution:

A member on here used a windows based programme to flash 2.2 on to the 1st gen Scroll tablet, and even though he had a CWM backup, he BRICKED his tablet!

This was because he thought that the firmware (that was for another tablet that seemed similar to the Scroll) would be compatible with the Scroll. However the firmware changed so much (sorry I forgot the details) his tablet would not even switch on. So The CWM backup was useless and to make things worse, he could not fall back on the ADB method to restore, as the Scroll would not respond via ADB.

I am not saying this will happen in this case, but it could. Just thought you guys should be made aware.


P.S - Just seen that the MOMO 9C pro seems to have a different CPU to the Excel's Cortex A8 1.21GHz one

Didn't notice that. However, within the instructions it shows a link to the 97FC models and the link shows this info

It's weird how the OP's upgraded "About Device" is identical to my tab, I would have expected there to be some differences. I'll wait and see if anyone is able to complete this upgrade first.

If you are referring to the details in your 1st post, they are not the same as the ones on my Excel.

the Momo9 in the pic seems to have been built around the same kernel as ours 2.6.36
but there are so many variable in the build that at this moment i dont advise flashing this Rom
It May work but probably not
people are cross flashing Allwinner devices with some success but they are having issues with no touch screen among others Clocworkmod may no longer be able to read or write to the card so you would have to flash back using fastboot
or it could just Brick
I for one am not yet in a position to try this rom but if things change and i get more info i will post back here

Fair enough Mitre, you know more about this stuff than myself, so I'll be guided by others such as you.

BTW, I'm in Hertford, out of interest, are you geographically close to me?
