blueeagle, let me know if the PM gets there!

Tried the Free Android Converter thing that's recommended on this thread.

Works great, set it to Samsung Galaxy S mode converted & fixed ALL my faulty clips, all play fine.

Of course they worked fine on PC and other phones without conversion, but at least that's one reliable workaround.

Thanks for finding that converter software

Video playback issues

It's:
MOD EDIT: Please do not post email addresses in the open forum. It just attracts spam into their mail box. Thanks

As for copying DVD's being illegal! For a start the phrase is unlawful! An "illegal" is a sick bird or prey!! Lol

You will find that it's perfectly lawful to make one and only one personal backup copy of a CD, DVD or MP3 that you lawfully have the right to. You must however delete any backup you have made, if you sell or pass-on the original copy.

So if you buy a CD, rip it to iTunes and then put it on your iPhone/ iPod or generic player, Apple has aided and abetted you in breaking the law as you now have two backup copies!

So come on SO support. If the Apple Legal Eagle's think its both lawful and appropriate, you have no excuse, so get on with it!

It might seem it's going cold, but SO are still hot on sorting this issue, they have not forgotten, they are working on it still.

Thanks Charlie,
It's good to know that SO are still on the case.

Sometimes, I know it can be a situation that someone is beavering away like mad behind the scenes to resolve an issue, but they neglect to tell people what they're doing... so, to the world it looks like not a lot is happening.

I get the impression that SO are an honourable and genuine company; and I trust in them that they will do the right thing.

Hi Excel

This user had audio sync problem and upgraded to Android 4 on his Scroll Excel clone. Not sure if this would help you or not.

Hi rayhertford,
Thanks for the info. Wouldn't it be great if Android 4 / ICS is the solution to making the Excel experience even more rewarding and it cures the audio sync issue... it almost sounds too good to be true!

The user on that other forum made upgrading to Android 4 sound easy... I don't think it's anything like as simple, maybe it is. There is a very real risk of anyone who doesn't know what they're doing (I certainly don't) bricking the Excel if all the firmware isn't precicsly configured for the specific device to be upgraded.

In another thread here, you'll see that we're waiting to hear back from SO about their position on providing an update to Android 4. I'm happy to wait and see what their stance is before exploring any other possibilites.

Sorry, not been on the forums for a few days,

Been looking at 2nd hand iPads & Transformers to replace my Excel. Needless to say, silly money so I'll be sticking with it a bit longer :-)

I heard back from SO on video sync and wifi issues last week. They are actively looking into it and accepted a fault which has been referred to development.

So we can expect a firmware fix from them but no idea when.
