Open up device manager (found in the control panel) there should be 1 unknown device. Right click on the unknown device and select "Update driver software".

Select "Browse my computer for Driver Software" then using the file selector locate the USB Drivers folder that was in the zip file you downloaded and extracted previously. Select either the x86 or x64 version of the driver depending on if you are running windows 32 bit or 64 bit.

1) In device manager I have 'Other Devices' and under that 'Andriod Eclair'
2) When I go to /USB Drivers, 'ok' becomes clickable, but when I click it fails as it 'cannot find the necessary software'. If I click into the AMD64 dir 'ok' becomes unclickable.

My friend you have lost me. I was following your guide and downloaded the file you linked to. It made a \Scroll-Clockwork recovery\USB Drivers directory and I tried to update the 'Andriod Eclair' device from that. But now you say something about some other place, but say the folder I have is the one they want me to have? I've been to the link above and it gives instructions which match the instructions you gave. I click on the folder and OK and it says it can't find any drivers. In the \USB Drivers\ folder are two cat files, and you tell me to select the right one for my OS (32/64), but there is no selection of files, just the directory.

I'm not generally daft, but you've stumped me here. Where am I going wrong?

Hi,

Those that have successfully done the clockworkmod backup - Can any of you confirm that your backup copy works?

The link i gave you is to google offical instructions on how to install there driver. I gave you it because I am at work and cant troubleshoot this right now for that reason.

It is possibly a problem with windows being 64 bit (googles SDK is not 64 bit) it may be worth googleing something along the lines of "Install adb drivers xp 64bit" and seeing if anyone has had problems similr to yours.

Sorry, my processor is 64 (AMD Athlox 64 dual), but my OS is 32 (WinXp Pro SP3). I mentioned it because the subdirectory in the /USB Drivers/ is AMD64, and because you said, "Select either the x86 or x64 version of the driver depending on if you are running windows 32 bit or 64 bit." and yet I can only select a directory in the driver update dialog, not a file.

yeah, I dig that you're at work. It's all good, no rush.
