I do have solar panels! :)

160 sounds expensive for a psu and case, but then my stuff is six years old

I think what I am going to do is get a bigger case a 750W PSU and transfer the contents of my Dell into the new box (and save up for a new mobo, CPU and RAM)

But I have spent the best part of today (yep nothing better to do today) looking on Google, as to whether my mobo a Foxconn G33m02 mATX will take a 750w PSU and not fry the board. - do mobos have a max power supply they can support?? - I have no idea :?

The power connectors are the standard ATX 24 pin and 4-pin for the mobo

TIA :D

hi charlie 750w is a good wattage I have a 400w cheap psu and no problems you won't fry your mobo unless it's a faulty unit which I've not come across put together dozens of pc's in my time though i have heard if a psu goes bad it can cause damage to other components have yet to come across one though
when you put your rig together you can get a program called everest it will show you the voltages your psu are putting out to see if they are within tolerence.
most psu now are switch mode power supplies smp's they basically see to the need of your system so they won't waste power no worries there.

Thanks gazzy21uk,

I am going to try that everest program now to see what my 4 1/2 year of Dell Bestec 300w psu is doing (I have heard that that psu is not very good)

Cheers :D

A 300w psu won't run most modern graphics cards. The mini itself draws relatively little current, its the graphics card that uses most by far.
Having said that, the integrated graphics that most mobos have are generally crap!
Everest is a pretty good program tbh
