Flash unsigned "update.zip" using hacked Recovery 3e

For 7" Scroll Capacitive Android 2.3.1 Only
Apparently the Scroll uses Samsung Galaxy S Rom
(Facebook told me this when i logged in on the Scroll and "scrolled" lol to the bottom of the page it said "Click to download Facebook app for your Samsung Galaxy S")
I'm assuming it reads this information from the Kernel ????
Reading other forums, Recovery 3e is something to do with Samsung as well (This version does not allow unsigned "update.zip" to be flashed
Recovery 2e does allow this, so obviously it was updated so it could not be done
So i did a bit of digging last night ( i was looking for Clockwork Mod Recovery )
I came across a hacked "recovery" file this is then copied to /system/bin folder which then allows Recovery 3e to flash unsigned "update.zip"

I have yet to fully test my theory, but I am positive its possible using this method

I can confirm this now works for the Scroll with Android Recovery 3e
I tried to "flash" a dummy update.zip and i am now NO LONGER prompted about signature verification failure

Now on to build Clockwork Recovery from source.... God help me....

does this mean we can flash the miscroll update and get gingerbread on our scroll or is the update totally different, ie not the full rom?

This is something i am working on for the 7" Capacitive Scroll, its different to the 7" Resistive Scroll but i do not fully know what apart from the Android 2.1 OS
