No idea, but ill tell you this much.....

There are "tourist prices" and "Egyptian prices"..... the two are nowhere near eachother.

The average barman in a hotel earns 300LE a month (just under £30) and they live on it. A normal police officer earns 400-500LE a month, and again they live on it. The General Manager of the Siva Hotel where ive stayed lots of times earns the equivalent of £12k a year. (550 rooms, nearly as many staff if not more)

My earnings will probably be 5 times his, so I keep quiet when I go there and get Egyptian prices!

It is a bloody good place mate. Its a German-owned chain - there are only germans/a few french and brits that go there.

Little tip for anyone wishing to go: Take a £20 bag of pound coins for tips. Tip people like the pool boys/bar staff a quid each day and youll see the service level go from excellent to "oh my god!". I spend probably £5 a day on tips there and never want for anything. They even offer to pack/unpack my cases, they leave bottles of booze in the rooms FOC, do all our washing in the hotel laundry for nada (normally costs £8), free room service... the list is endless. The first time we went HRH literally cried her eyes out and diddnt want to come home, bless her!

The Germans seem to own everything where it's warmer!!! We often go to Northern Mallorca and it's more advantageous to speak German than Spanish In fact we are going in September

Ok.... 2nd August is "D Day"

Im flying out there next Friday for the weekend to get paperwork sorted and get residency visa. No doubt ill have time on the Sunday to lay by the pool and sample the local vokda.
