HOW TO FLASH 2.3 Gingerbread CyanogenMod7 onto Scroll

I've installed the 19/june version of CyanogenMod7 on my v1.02s Scroll, but it really is unusable without calibration of the touchscreen. For instance, I can't use the "status" bar because I can't "touch" it, and using the on-screen keyboard is totally impractical because the touch points are more than a row out of alignment (can't even reach the spacebar!) I've tried using the "calibration" app but it doesn't do diddly. It's exactly the same after "calibration".

I've googled till my fingers are numb and I still don't understand this issue. Some posts seem to suggest that "pointercal" calibration isn't implemented in Gingerbread, but others here seem to think it's working. Can anyone who's installed this confirm that they're able to calibrate their screen or are they simply using it "as is"? If using without calibration, how far out are your touch points (e.g. a few pixels, a few millimeters, an inch or so?!?!)

Maybe I have a particularly "misaligned" touchscreen because I can't believe people would think this is usable.

thanx Fonefixer and Mitre tried both your solutions and alas still no luck. virgin in there infinite wisdom seems to of updated my firmware and now it is all to c**k. can only connect my now mobile phones to it nothing i have on wireless b will conect ho joy of joy. but once agian thnx for your help and keep up the good work this forum is just getting better and better all the time.

eddie, when you calibrate your supposed to reboot straight away and all should be ok.

eddie have you got resistive or capacitive scroll ?
reboot after calibration and did you do the wipes?
on one of my re-flashes i accidentally touched the screen 50mm away from the red dot and got a similar problem typing was impossible go to CMD recovery wipe data and then reboot recllibrate then reboot

I don't know quite how I screwed it up, but it seems I managed to make the pointercal file read only The calibration app didn't complain but, of course, it didn't manage to write to the file. I deleted the file, recalibrated, rebooted and it works!!!

Lots of tweaking needed, e.g. move the status bar to the top of the screen, get rid of the Doom III wallpaper etc, but it all seems to be there to tweak. I must take a CWM backup before I really screw it up!

thnx mitre and everybody else who tried to help me with my router probs. suffic to say i got it working lovely and it was my own stupid fault that it didn't work. i wont say anymore (feel stupid enough), but give yourselves a big pat on the back for all your help i can't thank you all enough for your advice. arggh, help. Having problems with the calibration. Wiped, recalib, reboot

thinking may have the same issue as Eddie with the pointercal file, can any1 help

this rom well may save my scroll

I was just going to post a similar request.

HRH has gone out shopping for the day, so I thought I would have a go at this. The recovery installs and works flawlessly from stock.

Things I have noticed:

Screen calibration - Cant get it anywhere near right no matter what I do (restore/wipe cache/factory reset and try again/ restore 2.1 and reflash from scratch).

Wifi - Patchy at best. Keeps scanning/disconnecting every minute or so - tried every setting I can think of. Works fine on 2.1 (Netgear DGN2200 router - Channel 3 WPA)

Scroll seems slow to respond - no idea why. Can I uninstall the ADW launcher and use a "normal" one?

Any idea appreciated
