looking back i dont think its really worth upgrading to ohno or yugo the reason i did it was for bbc iplayer thats no go and apps to sd thats near useless ive put on 16 apps onto sdcard and 37 on phone cant move them all to sd ive ran out of memory on phone already so it did give some extra space but it doesn't do what it says on the tin
the honeymoon period is over for me and android is starting to leave its teeth in a glass next to the bed
iknow ive only got low spec machines but the OS needs a lot of work to stop my head turning

Mitre; the disappearing icon bug is known about but I gave seen reports from users saying when this happens if they access the main apps screen the icons reappear - can't confirm though.
Do you have the iplayer apk and have you tried a manual install?
Not all apps support SD install, I presume the ones you have on the phone have the move to SD option greyed out?

Scope: the 5801 users do have froyo bugs but not as many AFAIK.

It is, after all, only a telephone :o OK, it does other clever things but out of the box, it works as it should for the price.

Personally, I bought one because I can't resist messing about with gadgets :D A long long time ago I bought a ZX81 and managed to double the memory capacity from 1kB to 2kB by soldering in a second memory chip. Not stopped messing since and now exploring Android. Well I would wouldn't I ?

That doesn't work on my Apollo or Galaxy Tab! My solution, don't move apps you want on the home screen to the SD card ;)

Interesting... It doesnt work on the Tab either? Ill have a word with my Son later in the week and get him to show me how his handset does it. He has a Galaxy S.

One thing I have noticed on my Desire S (Gingerbread) is that from a cold boot the icons of programs run from SD take 10 secs or so to appear correctly

I don't suppose there's a clever way of improving the wi-fi sensitivity? I can't move far from my WAP without losing the signal. My laptop, Tab and others are OK.

Hmmm.....

I dont have one to hand to look at but i remember there's a setting in the menus somewhere about wifi power saving (?) when I had mine at home I could walk all over the house and get a wifi signal. There are settings you could change in the engineering menu but they are capable of bricking the handset.

Does this happen with both your apollo's? what channel is your wifi operating on?

Morning FF!!

Can't find anything in the settings regarding wifi power saving. Yes, both Apollos are the same and ironically, the Pulse Mini is much more sensitive. I use channel 5 unencrypted and there's no chance of clashing with neighbours coz I aint got any :D Put my postcode into Google Maps and you will see what I mean ;)

The alignment of the antenna on my WAP is quite critical. It seems better horizontal. Where is the antenna in the Apollo, top or side?
