How To Root your Scroll Tablet - NOT Excel

i have noticed something, i can use oi file manager and i remember last week trying to do the build.prop, i change the name to build.prop.old, but the couldnt move the new prop file in there, so its still the build.prop.old, im guesing thats why everythings not working properly, anyway to fix this please.

Hi I.m new to android but i have found you can use adb on you pc to copy files to your tablet and rename or mod them. then place them back. if thats of any help but you have to install some stuff on your pc to do this.
also I think you may need your tab routed it got me out off trouble last week other wise I would suggest post new message on help in this forum hope this helps?

yeah i was hoping it wasnt adb, i tried doing it for my wildfire and completely couldnt get it to work, guess im going to have to put more effort in this time and get it sorted, thanks for your help

i used PdaNetA300.exe to find and install the usb driver

Hi

I brough a Scroll 7'' from Maplin the other day and have been trying to root it for 2 days soild so I can tether the wifi to my nokia N900 (which was rooted in seconds). My tablet is running 2.3.1 v1.02 I have tried gingerbreak and Z4root and nothing seems to root it ? When I root with Z4root it completes but wont give me su in the emulator ? with Gingerbreak it just hangs never completing ?

Any advice welcomed

I've just used SuperOneClick version 1.9.5 to root a capacitive Scroll running Android 2.3 (have given it back to its owner so I don't have the exact model number.) Once the ADB driver is set up correctly on your PC and your Scroll can be seen via the "adb devices" command, SuperOneClick is literally that - one click and you're rooted. Make sure you've enabled USB debugging and don't mount the SDcard on the PC.
