Galaxy Apollo Owners - Limited Time Offer!

Postby Fonefixer » May 29th, 2011, 2:20 pm

Guys,

As you Apollo owners know, Samsung (or Samdung as Scope calls them) are not readily giving out FroYo for these devices

I have already helped AndrewW flash his to Froyo, which was successful. However, some of you seem a little daunted by the idea so here's what i'll do.

If any of you Apollo owners would like FroYo flashed by me personally, for a small amount of cash (the profits of which will be 100% donated to Guide Dogs for the Blind) I will flash your handset to either jpf FroYo, or if you prefer pre-rooted jpm FroYo. I will also provide you with the required files on DVD in order to flash it back to the original eclair jg3 build complete with an idiots guide.
The handset will need to be sent to me including only a fully-charged battery (no sim or memory card) and all security locks removed (or I have to take it to work to read the codes!) by RM Special Delivery (costs about £5 I think). You will need to enclose £15 cash in the package with the handset - £5 of which will be spent on return postage and the remainder will be donated to GDBA in a month or so when all handsets are done. Please note it must be cash so I dont have to waste time clearing cheques or getting it out of Paypal.

PLEASE NOTE: I will not be making any profit from this whatsoever

If, on the other hand, you would prefer me to talk you through the procedure on the phone I can do so if you provide me with a landline number ( I get free calls at any time).

Anyone interested in this drop me a pm to discuss.
Dave

It is, you are quite correct. That is, it would be if it was officially released.

Hi spike, is yours an I5800 not I5801 and is it XEU product code please? If so could you post your firmware version?

Could an Apollo owner who is running the original firmware please connect their handset to kies and see if you're offered an update please. Note; this request is for 5800 owners not 5801 Orange branded handsets..Please post results here, thanks.

This has been confirmed by another forum member. FroYo is NOT available at this time in the UK via KIES for the I5800 - Only for the I5801.

I have also checked the KIES database ( what engineers use) and it isnt showing up, it does however have a nasty habit of being wrong.
