Hi

I'm Tone and have just got a Scroll. I've come across similar situations to others on this forum.

I've got Firmware 1 so don't have the calibration option.

When I first started the scroll it didn't go through the "Firmware Upgrade" path as per the printed manual. However this stage seems to be missing from the on-line manual so maybe that's another something that is changing.

I have some issues with email but I'll post those separately and hope to get some feedback from the knowledgeable guys out there.

Meanwhile keep up the good work and thanks.

Hi all, got a scroll just before the New Year. Still coming to grips with it and looking for the right apps. This site is very helpful and has shown me that the problems I have are not unique to just me! Things can only get better.

Hi

I bought the scroll yesterday and am very impressed. I'm hoping it's going to replace my ipod touch as it is just too small.

I don't even mind the screen/keyboard too much but will probably get a usb keyboard at some time.

I'm glad I stumbled across the forum, it's been helpful already.

I'm just about to try out google docs.

See you around the forum.

Hi Steve, and welcome.

Could you please put your firmware version in your sig, as per: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=79

Always helps when people ask questions!

Thanks
Mark

Hi all, I've had my scroll since the start of december, and its my first android device and I'm getting on with it pretty well and I'm enjoying what I can do with it.

Hi. Just stumbled on this forum today. I had no idea what i thought was an unknown "generic" tablet would have a forum of its own ;) I'm new to Android, my phone is still a WM6.1 HTC! The Scroll seems superb value and am enjoying it immensely. I had *no* hope at all that it could be rooted, let alone a possible 2.2 upgrade, so this forum has given me much hope. It's a measure of how much fun my new toy is, that I don't envy my partner's 3G iPad (which I helped her buy) - in fact I sometimes think it's the other way round :) But then I have a built in dislike of Apple products, I like to customise my computers to how I want them to work, not how Mr jobs wants them to work.

Thanks, charlie. Love the ZX81 with add-on rampack, btw. I've got one in a cupboard somewhere...

Hullo All,

Ironic to find this place after getting a scroll as a present for, lets say an elderly relative for Christmas. I only bought it really for ebook duties and some light email work but have been fairly impressed by it's hardware. I've currently got one on order for myself.

As for my reasons for joining; I've about 15 years unix/linux experience with a healthy old school hardware background and intend on using my scroll as a hackable toy. I won't promise anything but hopefully have a few idea's put into practice fairly soon.... Well... when it turn's up at least.

Warranty? What's one of those! ;-)

Mad-Dog Linux experience is always appreciated! especially if we have to get hacky and do stuff like try to run 2.2 on the 2.1 kernel
