Tried blinkbox in opera as both mobile and desktop (after build.prop change) - failed
Also tried in stock browser with html5/flash settings - failed

According to a bout of Googling, the latest version of Adobe Flash (Version 11.1.111.5) is 4.0 compatible.

I believe that 11.1.111.5 was the first version of Flash Player to be compatible with ICS. and 11.1.112.61 is the latest version.

So forgive me, I'm firing blind here
Does the build.prop file show that it is indeed running ICS 4.x or has it still got the 2.3.x identifier?
That's assuming of course, that the OS version is identified in the build.prop.

build.prop has 4.0.1 in some sections, and 2.3.4 in others - i think the 2.3.4 entries are the attempts to get full market access.

That's assuming of course, that the OS version is identified in the build.prop.

It does have OS 4.0.1 and is marked as so in the build.prop. But to the market it identifies itself as a Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-9100) running 2.3.4

So you will find that any apps that are just for 4.01 - they will not show in the market as the market thinks the device only has 2.3.4 OS


(This might be why there are issues with the market version of flash available to this momo9)

Switched back to original build.prop without 2.3.4 identifiers.
Uninstalled flash.
Rebooted.
Re-installed flash.
Still no joy.

EDIT: When you say 'Still no joy' - does that mean you could install the flash, but it still did not play flash stuff in the browser?

Tried uninstalling flash, then installing flash file from stuff4android link.
Still cant get flash video to work on bbc iplayer site.
For info, the flash player installs fine from this link, also intsalls fine from market - flash checking sites say that flash is installed, it just doesn't seem to work - instead of video just black.
