So I have also just picked up one of these but not a good experience so far.

Went to charge it, didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes before the battery symbol was full (good), but when I tried to start it, I get a symbol of an android flat on it's back with an exclamation mark (bad). That after I see the home screen v. briefly. Have rebooted a few times but no change.

Would appreciate any views/advice.

I have raised a ticket.

Replying to my own thread - found the reset hole, no change, found the power and vol - reset to factory settings, no change. No other suggestions received so it's going back. Waste of an evening and a v. brief experience with Scroll.

Unfortunately, it sounds very much like you have made the correct diagnosis

Is it worth trying to charge via USB first?

Just received mine, mmmmm, im having the same thing whilst charging,not responding, erratic text, wrong pages, facebook is definitely NOT the NYTimes, so before I start complaining I am going to do what it says in the 'idiot guide' and leave it to charge overnight and then see what it does in the morning!

UPDATE: Left it overnight to charge, and it works like a dream, no problems, no erratic behaviour It just doesnt like to be used whilst charging, a small price to pay for the fun my Grandson will have with it

Glad you got it sorted.

Mine worked fine for a couple of weeks and then the screen went blank - nothing I could do so sent it back for a new one. Had the replacement 4 weeks now and all going well. Manged to FULLY root it (after many different attempts) using DebugfsRoot_Generic_v2.3 if thats useful to anyone.
Now I want to install CWM Recovery so I can do progessive backups but can't find one available for Scroll Engage. Anyone able to point me in the right direction???
