Is the reason that there no new postings here because the elite is basically the extreme with more ram or are there more differences than just this.
Would it be ok to follow the postings in the extreme forum.

This section of the forum was created especially for the Elite because S.O. launched two new tablets the Extreme and the Elite and it was anticipated they would be bought in number as when they were announced they did then represent a reasonably good buy.

However, very few folk seem to have bought an Elite and as you say they are similar although the Extreme sports only 8G ram whereas the Elite has 16G - it is also possible from the vague description for the Elite that the Extreme has a better battery.

There was a shortage of Extremes for a while and S.O. started shipping the Elite in place of it. I don't know if the Extreme is still available or not. It appears you can only get them 2nd hand or old stock at the moment and the Elite it seems is only available at present for pre-pre-order.. draw your own conclusions ? ? ?

S.O. now have new Christmas babies to sell in the shape of the Scroll Excel II - the Scroll Pocket - and the Scroll Essential II which has gained a capacitive screen and sports the A13 (cut down A10) so no HDMI or Sata available on the Essential but it does have 8G ram powered by a rather poultry 2600 mAh Rechargeable Battery.

As far as following remedies, fixes and mods on the Elite being safe to follow processes designed for the Extreme would be at your own risk - ask someone who has an Extreme on that forum to see what they think.

I've had both Extreme and Elite - neither are currently available new. In general I found most advice about one also applied to the other, however I never got in to Modding ROMs so I would beware of that.

Frankly, with the benefit of hindsight, I think a combined forum for these would be sensible as they have more similarities than differences - I know the stuff I turned up on ADB drivers worked on both for instance.

I see your point Bob I will contact Admin and see if can combine the sub areas as one.

We decided to leave this thread open for anyone with an Elite and perhaps create another new sub forum for any more new Scroll models that come out.
Meanwhile anyone wanting generic information about the Elite can check the Extreme thread as there are model similarities.
