Hi Guys, I recently returned a faulty extreme only to get an Elite back in return due to no extreme's in stock. Not sure what to make of it at the moment. I was wondering if anyone has been able to flash the CM9 ROM on it and if so how.
I used CWM on the Extreme however the keys do not seem to map correctly on the Elite.
Any help would be great

Many thanks

I admit I am firing blind here but when I updated my Excel to ICS it changed the key mapping for CWM.
To enter recovery I now have to hold power and menu buttons - may be worth a try?

Hi Trashcooky, I have managed to install CWM on the Elite, it's just that the keys (mainly back button) doesn't work on it.
So I can't select any of the options as in to upgrade the ROM.

As lousy the keys seem to be mapped different on the elite you can change the key map using an app off xda devs i don't have a link falling that a new Cwm will need to be made for elite

Doesn't CWM selection scroll up or down using the volume + - and then the power button to select work on the Elite ?

Managed to flash CM9 on my Elite. The power button does indeed act as the select button. No back button however but I managed without it
Many thanks for the assistance

Hi mcevoyt,

What are the advantages of installing CM9 on the Elite?

Any downsides?

Could you please give a simple step by step guide to how you installed CM9?

Thanks

Have a read of this and see if that helps:
http://www.futeko.com/navpage/support.php#ekena90

The Eken A90 is effectively the elite.
I'll have a look to see where I got the CM9 ROM from

sgtbilko - links for CM9 and compatibility image you also need to apply.
I did install CM9 and was not entirely happy with it to be honest, serveral apps started to freeze on it and quite often.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like there's no real benefit to installing CM9 on an Elite.
I'll stick with the standard 1.1 image for now unless you know of something that really improves the user experience.
