Hi all, hope someone can help with this problem, this is the 3rd Elite tablet so far & I have had faults on them all (credit to Overclockers for exchanging each time) my problem with this tablet (same also with the last one) is the USB host, it initially worked on USB key board, pen drive & portable hard drive but after be used on only a couple of occasions these devices will now not operate with the tablet. I have tried a new OTG USB lead & a factory reset both being unsuccessful. Hope someone is able to help with this issue as I like the tablet but feel the USB host is to important a feature to be without & I don't really want to exchange the tablet for a 4th time.
Cheers John.

From your own quite comprehensive troubleshooting observations my money is unfortunately on yet another faulty unit. :(

Unbranded versions of this tablet have the same problems.

Have a look at a Gemini Joytab, Argos have them, same sort of thing but with slightly better build quality.

Looks quite good for http://tinyurl.com/89htc9a £177.99 although if you are an allwinner fan then you may be dissapointed as I have a strong suspicion that the Gemini Joytab uses Rock chips - in this case RK2918 which is based on the ARM A8 Cortex.
If I am right (if anyone knows different please say so) the ROMs offered to date on this forum are all Allwinner based so probably won't be compatible with a Rockchip CPU based tablet.

Aye, I think they are, pretty good tho. I had one for a week after my Elite, their support is good too with their own forum and a techy guy on hand. Not even the big firms provide that level of support! Google play store out of the box too.

I have just come across this post - my second Elite went back last week, I couldn't get it to connect to a PC or any other device on the Host USB port. If I connected it to my laptop it "killed" the laptop with an immediate power down.

I have now realised that connecting it to my desktop system had blown up the two USB ports on that so it looks like an expensive repair to get that sorted out, I'm hoping that ports aren't part of the motherboard and they can be changed.

Not a happy bunny, and I don't expect SO will pay for my repair.

I mention it here so if anyone else has the same problem with not connecting they will know to check the USB ports on their PC ! I only realised this morning I had a problem when I tried to connect a flash drive.
