Tip: Help Google Maps / Earth find you

Our lovely Scroll Extremes don't come with GPS, I guess to keep costs down. Not really a problem for me as I plan to use it mainly at home rather than travelling around. However, it does get a little frustrating with Google Maps (and other location aware apps) always starting up centred over North America because it doesn't know where you are.

So I had the idea of installing a location faker app (an app which pretends it's a GPS device and feeds other apps whatever lat/long you wish) to tell it where I am. I used fb Jumper, but there are plenty others, just search on "fake location". Starting Maps now comes up with it centred on my street. Much happier.

Thanks for the pointer to fb Jumper - I'd been looking for an app like this but couldn't find one that was :
a) free
b) o.k. on the Extreme.

It works for Google Maps but I had a problem with some apps not recognising the pseudo GPS.
