Changing IO Scheduler

So I got permission from my ladyfriend to pimp her Scroll Extreme 54242 tablet since she hardly uses it. I managed to get CWM recovery on there and then flash CM 10-20120822 on there without issues thanks to this forum and the search function . Now I've been trying to tweak it a little since it could do with a performance boost.

I can change everything except the IO Schedulers for some reason. I've tried different tools from the play store but the io scheduler options are always greyed out or 'unavailable', however I can change the cache sizes for the internal memory, just not the scheduler.

Also any essential performance tweaks would be appreciated
