Hi guys,

I really hope you can help me with a problem I'm having with my new scroll elite. Basically I brought the tablet a few days ago and it arrived today. My first thoughts were that its very good and for the money i paid I'm very happy. I installed the google play app and it opens with out any issues, problems however arise when I try and download anything. Basically as soon as I go to download anything I get a message that pops up saying unforunately play stre has stopped working and it shuts down, the store then won't reopen until I clear all data in the manage apps screen and once it will I still get the same problems when downloading anything

I'm not that bothered about google play but I do want access a lot of its apps like hotmail andit also becomes a problem when I try and update the facebook. I really hope someone can help else I might be forced ro return it whichc would be a shame

Do a factory reset.. the option to do so is in settings.

Tried the ol' factory reset a few times but to no avail, I was hoping it was some sort of a fault with the unit itself so was wondering if anyone else that had one had any problems. The play store doesn't actually come installed on this one by the look of it as oposed to just being hidden like in the extreme

I have the same problem. The storage options site say that goolgle play is no longer supported because of license issuses so I suspect that is where the problem lies.

I have been in contact with tech suppot about another issuse and they seem helpful so I will just ask them!

gbs, where did you find the play store apk? It may be worth trying another one.

Yeah, got my Elte yesterday and that is the first thing i noticed.

Daft question perhaps but if ggogle play really is not supported anymore how do you get legit commercial software?

I can also say that my play store wont work on my Elite. I have set up a thread in the Scroll Elite forum so maybe best to focus on there from now.

Looks like it must be due to something to do with the tablet itself. mines actually getting sent back due to having a battery that only lasts an hour with the most basic of use. Initially i thought it was just a dodgy battery but now seems like they may all be like it too. Needless to say ive lost faith in SO stuff and its doubtful i'll get an extreme, those £400 asus transformers that were a little too pricey dont look that pricey anymore!

I think mine has a battery problem too as it drains VERY quickly. Just running it through a full charge now and trying it again. Also would i be able to return it on the grounds that when it is plugged in the touch screen goes kinda crazy sometimes like pressing random buttons and keys when i'm typing?

Did you get yours from Scan? Also will you have to cover postage costs as sending it back will cost a bit i'd imagine.
