The last (ever) Christian Troy build was 2012.09.13, so I think you have shaun2029's tweaked build; don't know how that's working out. The gapps and compatiblity are the latest ones AFAIK.
My internal storage is exactly the same as yours.
The camera is an interesting one. I have requested an RMA for my scroll because it turns out my camera has never worked correctly. Sadly this may mean I don't have a Scroll Extreme anymore because Storage Options say they have no stock and ebuyer look the same. I may go for the Yarvik TAB9-200 as it is dual-core, but no custom roms yet, although there is a Yarvik upgrade to jellybean. However Christian Troy mentions the Rockchip RK3066 as his latest project somewhere in the final pages of hishttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1821398 so there's hope. But that's by the by.
No worries about the girl thing ;) I'll be a grandma in a month's time as well, so I don't really fit the normal mold I know!

If you look at the reviews for that Yarvik it seems the memory is badly split. The JB update might solve that though. I had the same problem - No stock of Extreme/Elite and finished up with the Sumvision Cyclone Titan (similar spec to the Yarvik but with a better memory split). It's fast compared with the Scrolls. The Sumvision isn't rooted out of the box, not sure about the Yarvik, it means I can't use Titanium Backup and some other handy things though. Both of those tabs get hammered on Wi-Fi sensitivity but I haven't had a problem.

Thanks BobC for that tip about the Yarvik, hadn't noticed it, and I do like to install plenty! Had also seen the Titan, and may go with that, if ebuyer ever get back with my RMA.
As regards root, may be worth trying this:

Hi ... All,
Finally decided to take the plunge & upgrade the my scroll extreme to CM10 from the lite version. Thanks to all the advice in this & other posts all when well. :)

Just got one issue - quite drastic ! I'm unable to make a nandroid backup via CWM. When I go into recovery CWM cannot see my internal memory or external sdcard.

It cannot mount emmc, sdcard or sd-ext.

Reloaded the livesuite image a couple of times, tried completing a backup before/After loading all my apps , still happening.

Has anyone else had a similar issue ?
Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks Mick

Resolved:
The issue was due to 'nandi' block missing.
I wasn't aware of this at the time, so I changed the entry in VOLD.FSTAB file from nandi to nanda' resulting in the internal storage being a partition of only 15mb.

Corrected by re-installing my original setup via CWM & then installing Suggsy's JB CM10 via livesuite. This kept the nandi block & I can now see the internal storage.

Backups now possible... :D

I can't figure out how to use this at all.

I select the image, click the cog-looking icon and it just crashes every time. Does this whether I have the device off, on or on CWM recovery screen.

Checked loads of guides but still no closer to understanding.

Hi Cantisque.... Not really sure of your issue, but I assume it with Live suite & loading the CM10 image.

I'm not an expert but this is what I did :
1) install Livesuite on the root of the 'c' drive - put the CM10 image in the same folder.

I then followed stubaldock's guide to the letter on a previous page.
https://scrolltabletforum.sevo.uk/site/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=3049&start=10#p24363

CM 10 loaded & working OK ( except the camera.)

Let me know if you have another problem & I'll try to help

P.S.
Initially my PC wouldn't recognise the tablet when I used the host usb. Therefore just ensure when you connect the extreme to the PC don't use the 'host usb' use the mini usb ( the one closest to the earphone socket. )

Tried that, ran LiveSuit and selected the image, held vol+ and plugged in data cable, pressed the power button and it boots to "CWM-based Recovery 5.5.0.4 for SmartPad 907c"
Nothing happens with LiveSuit.

Windows makes the noise to say that something is plugged in, though.

When I connected to the PC CWM didn't open up, I was just left with a black screen. I had to press/release the power button about 10 times before it connected to the PC.

I've installed this version of CM10 several times due to different issues. I seem to remember in one instance I picked up a different usb lead & couldn't get it to connect to the PC.

Are you using the usb lead that came with the tablet ? Apart from that I cannot think of any other reason. :?

I don't want to muscle in here sounding patronising but if you are having problems with livesuite take a look at this video. It is not for the Extreme but it is for allwinner updates and the procedure is identical. The narration is very good and it is easy to follow exactly what is being done: http://tinyurl.com/7gq44mf
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!
