CM10 Lite (Jellybean) Christian Troy Repackage

Sorry to bring this back to the lite version but...

I dont connect my Extpreme to my PCs, as cant connec to my works laptop, as so many forced encryptions it will brick any device connected (all to do with secure work... so dont suggest fixes ).

Dont connect to my home PC as can never get on it, as the family always want to do this or that. Hence, the reason I got a tablet, so I can have a device of my own to surf, etc.

Anyay, as such, I dont use Livesuite, just CWM on the tab to install the great ROMs you guys have developed.

Thought the lite version may be the answer to my tab being slow at times, as there is little headroom on the system mount. But I have just had to go back to Mr Troy's full blown ROM as have noticed that the lite version will not rotate the screen. It takes whatever orientation the app is in and stay with that. Have checked all the settings, but cant get it to auto rotate.

Anyone else find this, and if so, any fixes....


Suggsy, welcome back, I trust your broken limb is fully healed. Will the zip you provide also reconfigure the system space, or does that have to be done by connecting to a pc.

KLRichards I am surprised that you can't get rotation working.
This ROM is the same as CT's except for the removals.

Did you do a factory reset etc?
Did you install both the lite ROM and lite Google apps?

Rotation works without issues on my system.

Perhaps you should get CT's full ROM working with rotation then flash the lite ROM and lite gapps without a factory reset but clear the cache including dalvic.

I plan to strip the next ROM CT release, it should also have fixes for the memory issues that stop apps launching after a while. I have hacked my system to keep the low memory killer settings in /system/etc/init.d/03kernel which improves responsiveness and fixes strange behaviour, force closing, etc.

@KLRichards - I did have one rom flash of CT's where the screen didn't rotate but unfortunately i done two or three things (ticked an auto screen rotate option in Accessability or display then rebooted it and then unchecked them) it worked fine after that until i loaded shaun's new lite package.

It's a long shot but hey ya got nowt to lose

As for CT it looks like he's got a new toy to play with so not sure how much more he's going to pump into the CM family of roms?

Cheers guys, dont know what I must have done wrong, but reinstalled lite and all working, screen rotation, search even the music search widget, wich is fantastic.

The system partition still doesnt have much free space, but the tab boots so much faster.

Looks really great.

Glad to hear your back on track it is annoying sometimes when things don't work when you've done nothing different to the previous 500+ flashes lol
