I think the software see's /sdcard, but this is in fact just the usable section of the built in storage.

The actual scdard is /mnt/extsd

I'd guess this is normal.

Yup, it's normal. Just odd naming choice?

Actually, it has 2 micro SD cards...

1 of them is internal and cannot be removed.

The second is the external, where you see the empty slot.

Now whether the "internal" is an actual seperate SD card or just a partition on the main memory I dont know. But either way it is listed as an SD card.

Be careful, when ERASING the SD card using the Settings, as I did this, thinking it would erase the Micro SD card I had installed to find that all the apps loaded to SD card got removed (deleted).

Yeah the "Internal SdCard" is just a partition of the main NAND chip

The 32 gig ones are about £25.

I've gone for a Kingston 8 gig for £3.78 inc postage from Amazon to start with.

At the moment I'm using an old 8Gb card I had in an old phone. Gives me total of 16Gb which should be enough.

From what I gather though, the speed of the card is important. So just besure you get a fast card, and if its a balance of cost for speed against size, seems speed is the better option (providing it isnt stupidly small).

Sure someone explain how the card speed is specified...

Yes its an android thing, nothing to do with Scroll - very confusing. Stupid name. Should be internal storage and SD card. Also there should be an easy link to the card slot and the USB Host port but there isn't. You have to use a File manager to find and access the folder as noted above in the MNT folder.

If you use an external USB drive plugged into the Host USB port it seems you have to go into Settings and Storage and UNMOUNT the device first before unplugging it. Android is still a bit old fashioned.
